The Manipur Staff Selection Commission (MSSC) was set up by the
Government of Manipur as an official body responsible for recruiting staff for
various subordinate roles in state departments, autonomous bodies, and
semi-government organizations. It officially came into existence on 1st
September 2022, under the Manipur Staff Selection Commission Act, 2022
(Manipur Act No. 10 of 2022).
Purpose and Goals
At its core, MSSC is all about conducting recruitment in a way that’s
fair, transparent, and based on merit. The Commission is dedicated to upholding
values like integrity, efficiency, and inclusiveness. Its goals include:
- Running
a solid and trustworthy selection process to find qualified and committed
individuals who can serve Manipur effectively.
- Ensuring
that every eligible candidate has an equal shot, regardless of gender,
caste, religion, or background.
- Maintaining
a high level of transparency and responsibility at every step of the
recruitment journey.
How It Started and Where It Operates
MSSC officially began its work on 2nd September 2024, from the Extension
Training Centre Office Building of the RD & PR Department, located in
the DC Office Complex at Imphal West, Lamphelpat. Initially, only a
handful of officials managed the operations, often balancing their roles at
MSSC with other duties. Even with limited resources in its early days, the
Commission stayed focused on ensuring its recruitment processes remained fair
and transparent.
Going Digital
In April 2025, MSSC took a big step forward by launching its
official website: manipurssc.mn.gov.in.
Developed by CubeTen Technologies, the site makes it much easier for candidates
to access updates, notifications, and information related to exams and
recruitment. The website launch was led by senior officials, including the
Chief Secretary and MSSC’s Chairperson, reflecting the Commission’s commitment
to openness and accessibility.
