Keping your mobile number updated in Aadhaar is important for several reasons:

Communication: Your registered mobile number acts as a primary mode of communication between you and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which manages the Aadhaar program. UIDAI may need to contact you for various purposes, such as sending important notifications, updates, or information related to your Aadhaar.

Authentication: Aadhaar is often used for authentication purposes, such as during the verification process for government services, financial transactions, and other activities. By having an updated mobile number, you can receive One-Time Passwords (OTP) or other authentication messages on your phone, enabling smooth and secure verification processes.

Aadhaar-based services: Various services and benefits linked to Aadhaar, such as government subsidies, welfare schemes, or financial services, may require authentication through OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Without an updated mobile number, you may face difficulties in availing these services or miss out on important benefits.

Security: An updated mobile number helps in enhancing the security of your Aadhaar. By receiving real-time alerts or notifications related to any activity or change in your Aadhaar profile, you can stay informed and take appropriate actions in case of any unauthorized access or suspicious activities.

Aadhaar profile management: Updating your mobile number in Aadhaar facilitates the ease of managing your Aadhaar profile. You can make corrections or updates to your personal information, link Aadhaar to various services, and avail of online services provided by UIDAI conveniently.
