What is Digital Life Certificate? |Jeevan Pramaan.

The Digital Life Certificate (DLC), also known as the Jeevan Pramaan, is a digital certificate issued to pensioners in India. It was introduced by the Government of India as a way to simplify the process of verifying the existence of pensioners, particularly for those who reside far away from the pension disbursing agencies or are unable to physically visit the agency due to various reasons.

The DLC is an online mechanism that allows pensioners to digitally prove their existence (to prove they are still alive), thereby eliminating the need for them to present themselves in person for the verification process. The certificate contains essential details such as the pensioner's biometric information (fingerprint and iris scan), Aadhaar card number, and other relevant information. The pensioner's biometric details will be capture live. With this system, fraudulent activities could be easily curbed out at the same time providing convenience and easy accessibility to the system.

To obtain a Digital Life Certificate, pensioners can submit their life certificates online using a dedicated web portal called "Jeevan Pramaan" or mobile application by same name. They can also visit our Centre during working hours or any authorized centers, such as banks, post offices, or government service centers, where their biometric information and other necessary details are captured digitally.

The Digital Life Certificate system aims to streamline the pension disbursement process, reduce paperwork, and minimize the inconvenience faced by pensioners. By adopting this digital solution, the government can ensure the efficient and timely payment of pensions while minimizing fraudulent practices.
